Help and Healing for Men Struggling with Sexual Brokenness

Find True Identity serves as NewHeart Expressions website. Hosting Pastor Ron’s Find True Identity Discipleship (FTID), which launches hopefully in the Fall of 2023. Along with Ron’s upcoming blog in 2022. But this page isn’t about Ron’s discipleship or blog. It’s about the WEBSITE. So, how best can be described?

Well, NHE provides a lot of explanation for its Find True Identity Discipleship (FTID) under the Discipleship Section. But is that all? Is this site simply a host site? Yes. Is there more? Yes. But you’ll just have to wait to find out. The best way is to visit often and explore it pages. This site is a work in progress.

In 2002, NHE’s first discipleship was entitled Power of Purity. And that stuck for about a decade. Lasting through the first years and the years of Pastor Ron’s head injury and recovery. But as time went by, there was a desire and a need to have a name that spoke to who NHE is and what Pastor Ron does. As NHE’s discipleship path evolved, the phrase Finding True Identity became more prominent. Kinda front-and-center. So, when our website company went looking to rebrand, shockingly! and in God’s provision was available. So, we grabbed it! And was born.

When NHE rebranded its website, Pastor Ron didn’t want to change the ministry’s name from NewHeart Expressions. For truly NHE coins who we are. For the Christian’s NewHeart does express itself in certain ways. Bringing God’s promises of a new nature, a new identity, and a new destiny into light. Along with these promises, Holy Spirit prompted the name (an identity) with Ezekiel 36:26-27—I (God) will give you a new heart, with new and right desires. I will put a new spirit (i.e., God’s Life) in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.

When the NewHeart Expressions website became FindTrueIdentity there was a dream for disciples to make disciples. It’s still a dream. But currently, NHE is Pastor Ron’s ministry platform alone, and FTID is how he disciples the sexually broken; though FTID isn’t really about sex, per se. It’s about how Jesus’ Life helps and heals the broken, including the sexually and relationally broken.

Getting FTID ready to publish onsite was more difficult than not. Pastor Ron’s head injury left him with life-changing neurological damages—cognitive and emotional deficits—diagnosed as a traumatic brain injury. Recovery was slow, and at times difficult. Writing was disorganized and Ron was easily distracted and often disoriented. So, as time passed, writing came to a slow crawl.

But regardless of Ron’s injuries, Holy Spirit continued to use him to disciple sexually broken men. He often didn’t know where these men came from or how they found him. It was a God-thang! And since Ron knew God’s Word. He could communicate the Exchange Life message and its biblical teachings, practically and strategically So, he saw broken men encounter God and embrace Jesus as Life, finding help and healing with significant and lasting change.

So, Pastor Ron has been able to assist dozens of men over the past decade or so (averaging 10 men each year, in two-to-three-year commitments). And graciously seeing God transform lives, year after year. Men overcome by various UNWANTED sexual struggles—straights, gays, even sex offenders, etc. etc. etc. All with porn addictions and most acting out, habitually seeking sexual encounters. Then 2020 brought twenty-three men and four couples into discipleship. With fourteen men from the previous few years finishing their journey by email.

Pastor Ron believes God has established and given NewHeart Expressions Find True Identity Discipleship. So, he’s trusting God to provide a way to get FTID written and published. And seeks your prayers and support to that end. As he continues to make disciples of men struggling with UNWANTED sexual passions and urges.
